2026 Diversity Visa Lottery Registration Now Open
Starting from October 2, the U.S. Department of State began accepting online submissions for the 2026 Diversity Visa lottery. If you're interested, you can apply up until November 5. The process is entirely online and concludes at noon EST on the end date.
For this round, 55,000 green cards will be available. The Diversity Visa lottery primarily aims to provide a pathway to U.S. residency for people from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.
It's important to note that residents from certain countries are not eligible for the 2026 lottery. These countries include Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including mainland and Hong Kong SAR), Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
According to the State Department guidelines, submitting your application early during the registration window is highly recommended to avoid potential website issues from high traffic closer to the deadline. Remember, you're only allowed one application per person.
This opportunity doesn't come often, so make sure to apply if you're eligible and interested. Good luck!
